Our story starts with our founder, Roy, who moved from the UK to the BVI in 1990 after seeing a job advertisement in the back of a magazine for a wind surf instructor.

After visiting his local library and pulling out a map to find out where the BVI was (in a time before Google), he was soon offered the job, packed his backpack and set sail into the sun.

In the years after during trips abroad to Bali, Roy started collecting and bringing back items for his friends in the BVI. As more friends made requests, he soon realised its potential as a business venture.

Arawak opened its doors in 1995 and has expanded over time, stocking brands from across the world. There are now five Boutique and Interior stores across the BVI offering an array of products and services.

Today, Arawak is a must-see shopping destination in the BVI, delivering quality products and fantastic customer service to both locals and tourists.
